Printing and Die-Cut Manufacturer - Business Development Manager, North America

ETI is a leading China-based manufacturer involved in printing and die-cutting. Their labels and die-cut parts can be found on products and packaging of many products consumers and businesses used on a regular basis, from parts and labels on mobile phones, tablets, and personal computers to consumer products such as toothbrushes. The company primarily sells printing and die-cut solutions to sub-contractors of major OEMs. The company's quality products are found on products from well-known companies.

North America is considered a critical market to the future success of the business and as such, the company has established an office in Silicon Valley. The business now has an opportunity for a highly experienced Business Development Manager to join the team at a regional senior management level and lead business activities across the region. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing the business in the USA and Canada.

1) Business Development Manager Role Description
• Expand customer acquisition, relationship management and business growth in North America, qualifying the company for business directly with major OEMs and expanding new clients for the printing business.
• Lead regional team in business development and operations activities. As the business expands, build, coach and manage high performing teams to achieve business goals.
• Participate in strategy development and implementation across the region.
• Develop and implement a marketing strategy that includes industry associations, trade shows and media relations. Build networks of business partners, stakeholders and contacts in the industry and media.
• Understand the consumer needs and market trends in US; propose product concepts. Promote business development of the company in cooperation with business units in China headquarters.

Qualifications
• Network of client contacts at major North American target companies.
• Experience successfully building relationships and selling related low-value products to consumer electronics industry customers such as cell phone and tablet manufacturers. Experience working with major companies such as Amazon, Apple, Cisco and similar companies is preferred.
• Strong track-record of sales results.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to speak Chinese is a plus but not essential.
• Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter.
• Good business understanding and experience from a multi-cultural business environment. Understanding Chinese culture is a plus.
• Bachelor degree or above in marketing or business administration.

2) Sales Engineering Manager Role Description
• Work as the point contact between technical teams of customers and internal manufacturing team in China. Translate customer need/intent for component designs into solution designs and engineering requirements that meet the customer need.
• Work with the project team to develop drawings and make prototypes. Submit drawings and prototypes to customers. Arrange and attend face to face meetings with customers' technical teams to review the drawings and prototypes
• Understand materials properties of die-cut products to assist customers with selecting appropriate raw materials. Ensure that materials are cost effective and the part is designed with manufacturability and cost in mind.
• Regularly update new material information and recommend new materials to customers.
• Understand customers’ needs; provide purchasing with specifications, coordinate with purchasing to source raw materials, and track availability date of raw materials.
• Manage project engineers and coordinate with purchasing, collect and file lab testing reports and other documents. Supply documents to customers
• Complete project documentations before mass production. Transition project from sales to engineering and production.
• Ensure customer, engineering and manufacturing communications are smooth via face to face meetings, emails, phone conversations and conference calls.

Qualifications
• 3+ years work experience in consumer electronics industry with specific knowledge and experience in development and production of smart phone and tablet mechanical parts.
• Experience translating customers’ needs from working with major customers such as Amazon, Apple, Cisco and other similar companies is preferred.
• Understanding of properties of raw materials (such as materials from 3M, Nitto or TESA) is important.
• Ability to translate customer requirements to designs, layout and drawings, working with engineering as required. Understanding of manufacturing processes for production is a plus.
• AutoCAD experience to develop drawings is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to speak Chinese is advantageous but not essential.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Material Science.
• Good business understanding and experience from a multi-cultural business environment. Understanding Chinese culture is a plus.
