Data Scientist – Platform Integrity (multiple openings available)
Develop data-driven models and strategies that proactively identify and mitigate product risks and drive improvements to privacy and security of users and global social media communities in ByteDances platform. Analyze large-scale data sets and design and develop indicator systems to tackle challenges arising from threats to the quality of digital and visual content that impact software product security and users safety/privacy. Provide team with ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools and pull data for team projects and initiatives. Use data to identify trends, conduct root cause analysis and suggest potential opportunities for process improvements. Scale and automate data analyses to identify trends, particularly in areas such as fairness, safety, privacy and transparency in data. Create data-driven strategies to proactively identify, detect, and mitigate risk to users and online community.
The position requires Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field,
24 months of experience in:
- Statistical and quantitative data analysis techniques, and application of industry-leading data infrastructure and data engineering;
- Using data visualization tool (Mode Analytics/Chartio/Tableau) to analyze large amounts of data and facilitate data gathering and specific data mining;
- Relational database (SQL or MySQL);
- Utilizing scripting language (PHP, Python, or Perl) and statistical software (R, SAS, or SPSS).
